Team b4b put their best foot forward this past Saturday as they completed an epic 13-mile charity walk from Bournemouth Pier to Hengistbury Head and back, all in support of their charity of the year, Amelia’s Rainbow.
The 12-strong team tackled the walk under a scorching sun and powered through in less than 4 hours, each covering over 30,000 steps – that’s a lot of footwork for a fantastic cause!
The walk, which started bright and early at 7am, had the team trekking along the stunning Dorset coastline. Their mission? To raise money for Amelia’s Rainbow, a charity dedicated to providing support, experiences and memories to children and families in Dorset with life-limiting illnesses or disabilities.
The team was supported by Hot Rocks Restaurant, a valued b4b client, who generously treated them to a well-deserved pizza lunch after the walk.
“It was a tough walk in the heat, but we all kept pushing through, knowing how important this cause is,” said Hayley Baverstock, Director at b4b. “With each step, we were reminded that we’re not just walking for ourselves – we’re walking for families who really need the support. The pizza from Hot Rocks was definitely welcomed, and we couldn’t have asked for a better sponsor to treat us at the end!”
The b4b team’s efforts raised an impressive sum for Amelia’s Rainbow, with all funds going directly towards helping the charity continue its vital work. It’s all part of b4b’s ongoing commitment to giving back to the community while having a bit of fun along the way.
“We’re absolutely thrilled with how the team came together for this event,” added Farah Batchelor, Charity Manager at Amelia’s Rainbow. “Their energy and dedication are truly inspiring, and we’re incredibly grateful for the support. Thanks to b4b and Hot Rocks Restaurant, we’re one step closer to helping even more families in need.”
The charity walk is just one of the many ways we are supporting local causes and making a difference in the community.
