introduction
The project presented several challenges:
- Integration with existing systems: Guardian Automotive required use of an older SOAP API to connect the ecommerce platform with their existing stock and customer management system. This integration needed to ensure that customer information, product details, and unique pricing structures were accurately reflected in real-time on the website.
- Secure and personalised access: The platform had to handle sensitive customer information and unique pricing. Therefore, a system was needed where product prices would be hidden unless the user was logged in. Additionally, there had to be an option for non-logged-in users to request orders without seeing product prices.
- User experience and efficiency: Creating a user-friendly interface that allows trade customers to easily navigate the product catalogue, place orders, and manage their accounts was crucial.
