Introduction

Hospitality Rewards approached b4b with a clear vision: to become the first employee benefit platform tailored exclusively for the hospitality sector. Their goal was to provide members with vital support for their health and wellbeing, enable savings on everyday goods and services, and make leisure time more affordable. To achieve this, the client required a minimum viable product (MVP) that could be launched to validate the concept and gather user feedback.

The Challenge

The new Hospitality Rewards platform required both a website and an app that were fully integrated and user-friendly to maximise member engagement and usage. Delivering this MVP therefore required several collaborative meetings to identify and agree upon key functionalities and design preferences. Following these discussions, b4b developed a prototype to demonstrate the core concepts and validate the project’s direction before full development began.

Key Features & Functionalities

To address these challenges, the b4b software team implemented several key features and functionalities:

Advanced WordPress Website Design & Build

The WordPress CMS b4b developed was tailored to meet the client’s specific requirements:

  • Administrators can easily add, edit, and remove perks, discount codes, and other member benefits through the CMS. This ensures that the platform remains up-to-date with the latest offers, keeping members engaged and coming back for more.

  • The CMS supports the creation of multiple membership tiers, each with its own set of rules and permissions. These rules control which perks and benefits are visible to users based on their assigned membership tier. This tailored approach ensures members only see relevant content.

  • The WordPress CMS empowers the client to take control of their content. They can effortlessly update pages and publish blog posts, allowing them to keep members informed and engaged without needing technical expertise.

Mobile App Design & Development

To ensure members could access their benefits easily while on the go, b4b developed a custom mobile app to accompany the Hospitality Rewards website. The app was designed to deliver the same seamless, user-friendly experience as the website, providing members with instant access to perks, discounts, and wellbeing resources wherever they are.

  • The app is fully integrated with the WordPress CMS, ensuring that any updates made on the website - whether it’s adding new perks, adjusting membership rules, or updating content - are instantly reflected in the app.

  • The app was designed with mobile users in mind, offering intuitive navigation and a streamlined interface that allows members to quickly find and redeem their benefits without hassle. Features such as quick search, favourites, and an interactive map of perks further enhance usability.

  • Leveraging Firebase, the app enables the client to send targeted push notifications directly to members’ devices. These notifications are invaluable for increasing engagement, whether by promoting new listings, highlighting exclusive perks, or running time-sensitive campaigns.

Integration with HR Platforms

The Hospitality Rewards platform includes integration capabilities with popular HR platforms like RotaReady, making member data management and transfer to the Hospitality Rewards platform easier and less time-consuming.

SSO Integration

Single sign-on (SSO) functionality allows members to seamlessly navigate between Hospitality Rewards and third-party platforms such as Cinema Society, My Gym Discounts, and Voucher Store without re-authentication being required.

Since its launch, Hospitality Rewards has rapidly grown into a thriving platform supporting over 100 businesses and 15,000 members. The platform’s success has validated the initial MVP and demonstrated the potential for even greater impact.

Today, Hospitality Rewards continues its partnership with b4b, embarking on a fully custom rebuild to enhance functionality, scalability, and user experience. This next phase will ensure Hospitality Rewards remains the premier employee benefit platform for the hospitality industry!
