Bespoke App & Website for Hospitality Rewards

Introduction

Hospitality Rewards approached b4b with a clear vision: to become the first employee benefit platform tailored exclusively for the hospitality sector. Their goal was to support member wellbeing, offer savings on everyday goods and services, and make leisure time more affordable.

To validate their concept, b4b initially delivered a minimum viable product (MVP) in the form of a fully integrated website and mobile app. Since then, b4b has continued its partnership with Hospitality Rewards, launching phase two in June 2025 - a series of advanced upgrades and brand enhancements aimed at driving platform growth, improving user experience, and solidifying Hospitality Rewards’ place as the leading benefits platform in the sector.

The Challenge

This first challenge was to design and develop an integrated website and app that were simple to use, visually engaging, and effective at encouraging regular member engagement. The platform needed to support multiple user types - employees, employers, and administrators - whilst enabling dynamic content management and tier-based access to perks.

After the successful launch and strong adoption of the MVP, the focus shifted to evolving the platform to support long-term growth and brand development. b4b and Hospitality Rewards began collaborating on a second phase of work that would elevate the user experience, introduce more advanced features like voucher integrations, and visually reposition the brand.

This next stage of development also involved redefining the website as a dedicated marketing tool (rather than a parallel platform), introducing richer content management controls, and enhancing the app’s usability to better serve a growing and diverse membership base.

Key Features & Functionalities

To address these challenges, the b4b software team implemented several key features and functionalities:

Custom CMS

In the early stages of the project, a WordPress CMS was developed to meet Hospitality Rewards' initial requirements - enabling the team to manage perks, content, and user tiers. This solution was ideal for launching the MVP quickly and validating the concept in the market.

As the platform matured, Hospitality Rewards outgrew its original WordPress CMS. To support scalability and long-term growth, b4b developed a fully custom CMS tailored to the unique needs of the platform.

The new CMS is purpose-built, offering:

  • Unlimited scalability with no plug-in constraints or structural limitations.

  • Streamlined content and listing creation, allowing administrators and partner businesses to easily manage their perks.

  • Granular access control, giving business owners and employers the tools to manage their own offers, visibility, and rules - whilst keeping the system secure and centralised.

  • A future-proof foundation ready to support new features, integrations, and user growth without compromise.

  • Ability for businesses to easily import their employee details to create user profiles, or add them manually.

This upgrade not only empowers the Hospitality Rewards team with more control and flexibility but ensures the platform is robust, future-ready, and built to grow alongside their success.

Wordpress Website

As part of phase two, b4b also developed a new marketing-focused website using WordPress. With the mobile app now positioned as the primary platform for employees, the website was reimagined as a promotional and acquisition tool.

  • Designed to drive app downloads and communicate platform value to employers.

  • Built from a visual identity and branding spec - logo, colours, and template - provided by a third-party agency, which b4b faithfully brought to life through development and build.

Mobile App Design & Development

The Hospitality Rewards app received a complete facelift in phase two, with b4b applying the updated brand identity across the app experience.

  • The app was re-skinned with a vibrant, modern visual style aligned with the new logo and colours, delivered via a custom prototype before final development.

  • Fully connected to the new custom CMS, allowing real-time content sync and scalable performance.

  • Optimised for mobile-first interaction, ensuring a smooth, accessible experience for hospitality employees on the go.

Perks, Listings & Vouchers

The app allows employees to browse a wide range of perks, with flexible display and interaction options for perk owners:

  • Listings can include custom CTAs such as redemption codes, phone numbers, URLs, and more.

  • An interactive map view with location-based search helps users easily find local perks and benefits.

  • Categories and filters streamline discovery, helping users quickly identify the most relevant offers.

Introduced as part of the phase two update, the Vouchers feature enables:

  • Employers to gift vouchers to their team via integrated third-party services.

  • Employees to purchase discounted vouchers for a variety of popular brands, directly through the app.

Integration with HR Platforms

The Hospitality Rewards platform includes integration capabilities with popular HR platforms like RotaReady, making member data management and transfer to the Hospitality Rewards platform easier and less time-consuming.

SSO Integration

Single sign-on (SSO) functionality allows members to seamlessly navigate between Hospitality Rewards and third-party platforms such as Cinema Society, My Gym Discounts, and Voucher Store without re-authentication being required.

Result

Since its launch, Hospitality Rewards has grown into a thriving platform supporting over 100 businesses and 14,000 members. The platform’s strong uptake validated the initial concept and proved the market’s demand for a dedicated benefits service within hospitality.

b4b continues to work closely with Hospitality Rewards, delivering ongoing improvements and preparing for further expansion. With a strong foundation, refreshed brand, and continuously evolving feature set, Hospitality Rewards is well-positioned to remain the leading employee benefit platform in the hospitality industry.
