Croft Preservation were looking to improve their online presence and generate more leads. Recommended to us by another b4b client, we met with the owners of Croft to discuss how they wanted to be positioned online and to discuss an ongoing marketing campaign once the new website was live.
They are a leading damp proofing company covering Dorset and Hampshire. Their experienced team provide a wide range of damp services to residential and commercial clients, including damp surveys, damp proof course installation, damp treatments and basement tanking.

Improving Croft’s ranking on Google was one of the major considerations when designing the new website so we designed a visually clear layout to improve user experience and our copywriters created optimised content that would attract the attention of Google to improve their rankings for targeted keywords.

As the subject matter of the website can be described as less than exciting – damp! – and imagery was always going to be problematic, we created a personality for the site using illustration and the introduction of a character called Crofty, the damp superhero.

This enabled our design team to use illustration to bring the website to life. He appears on slider images to welcome visitors to the website, blog articles to educate visitors on damp issues in the home and as call-to-action prompts. He has certainly given the site character!

Once the new website was live, our Marketing team was brought on board to launch the marketing campaign and build the profile of Croft Preservation locally as the go-to experts on issues damp-related.

Our SEO team ensure the website is always up-to-date and, more importantly, ranking well on Google. We do this by creating keyword-targeted webpages, news posts, knowledge base articles and case studies, among a few other tricks.

Given the health issues related to damp in the home, we have created a number of blog articles that educate the general public about the importance of having damp checked immediately or risk health implications. Just one of these advisory blogs has since been read over 7,300 times.
Creating content that users find useful and engaging has led to us achieving top 5 positions in Google for over 50% of our targeted keywords. This success has helped us increase website traffic by 410% since the website went live.

The success of our SEO campaign means that Croft no longer has to spend with Google on a PPC campaign – their investment in SEO has earned them organic rankings on page 1 that generate on average 50 enquiries per month.

To complement the website and increase the number of enquiries Croft receives, we manage their social media marketing and run their Facebook account. We craft and upload educational posts, news about the company, showcase their work and generally communicate with their audience.

To create a more engaging presence, we regularly use the Crofty character to enhance the posts and design various graphics to catch the eye.

Their profile on the channel has increased year-on-year and generates direct messages from homeowners looking for damp surveys.
