Leading vehicle component recycling company, Charles Trent, approached us for a website that could provide an e-commerce platform for customers to buy car parts online.
Their existing website used iframes to display the products, which made it difficult for Google and other search engines to index the products, heavily impacting on their website’s rank in search engine results.
The challenge was to seamlessly integrate the 3rd party software, which manages their products into the Magento® e-commerce platform using RESTful APIs.
We built an online car parts ordering platform for Trents that integrates with data from 3rd party software to give live parts stock-levels and pricing.
Our team successfully integrated Car Parts and Order APIs and developed a user-friendly and simple online shopping solution using the Magento platform. We worked closely with the 3rd party to suggest improvements to their Car Parts API which enabled better alignment with the client’s existing business process model.
We also built custom extensions for postcode lookup, search autocomplete and rich snippets for the many products and categories.
The Magento system was successfully introduced with zero disruption to the client’s business. The installation has resulted in more streamlined business processes and more efficient operational performance resulting in an increase in turnover and profit.
