Working with our brilliant developers in Poland, our in-house software team produced a specialist, interactive competitions portal for Bowls England to accompany their existing website.
Bowls England are the national governing body for outdoor lawn bowls, a sociable, active sport enjoyed by people of all ages.
Our team built a separate, custom site, hosted on our server, to enhance speed and security. There, visitors can create their own accounts, sign up to enter competitions, make digital payments, and follow live league tables.

User experience was a key focus throughout the project and taken into consideration at every stage of the design process.
Due to the wide age demographic that would be using the portal, the site had to be as accessible as possible to accommodate all needs and abilities.
Despite the complex functional elements of the website, the layout was simple and decluttered, incorporating clear fonts and colours.
With the understanding that users were likely to be checking in regularly for competition updates from their mobiles, tablets, and laptops, the portal was designed to be compatible with a range of devices.
Explanatory headings and user guidelines were also incorporated throughout the portal in order to provide additional support and clarity.

Through lots of regular client communication, we were able to gain a thorough insight into the world of bowls, producing a unique website that was specific to the sport and recognised the needs of the user.
