Three members of our team recently took part in the Pier to Pier swim between Bournemouth and Boscombe, raising £498 for the British Heart Foundation.
Matt, Sarah and Abbie all completed the 1.4 mile sea swim on Sunday 17th July. The Pier to Pier is an event that has been hosted by the British Heart Foundation for several years now and involves two separate waves of 1000 swimmers setting off at 10am and 12pm from Bournemouth pier respectively.
This year, the event attracted more participants than ever before, likely due to the near perfect conditions. The sun was out and the sea was calm, and with afternoon temperatures reaching over 26 degrees, the dip in the sea was a welcome relief!
Overall, participants raised over £50,000 on the day of the event alone to help fund the British Heart Foundation’s life-saving work.
Sarah said: “It was the hardest thing I’ve ever done in my life, but I am so proud that I pushed myself to finish I and am very grateful to all who sponsored and supported me!”
Matt, Steff and Sabrina also came to support the B4B team and got some excellent drone footage whilst they were at it, check it out!
