Last Tuesday we closed up early, slapped on a hat and some factor 30 and twenty-three of us dashed off to the Beach. Being a Poole based business, it seemed only right that we head to the most famous of our sandy beaches – Sandbanks.
New recruits, seasoned veterans, teams from software, marketing, web, promotions, members of the family - everyone was welcome, and it was a well-enjoyed chance to relax, chat and try to balance on a paddleboard!
The BBQ food was thanks to Patricks and we were treated to burgers, vegetable skewers and hot dogs, washed down with a cold drink.
It was such a hot day, pushing 30 degrees and the sea was so inviting, lots of us went for a dip, played frisbee in the shallows and then jumped on paddleboards, it was great fun.
But then, things got serious! It was time for the now traditional, hyper-competitive rounders game. Confusion over the number of Matts resulted in ridiculously one-sided team numbers but undeterred both teams batted, caught, ran and fielded. After such a competitive start it seemed ironic that nobody remembered to score so the game was deemed to be a draw.
Although Anthony has reminded us of his three ‘home runs’ many times since.
