Purpose
A learning centre is about getting more out of the organisation, team
and individual. It is an exploration of the capabilities of participants
and how these can contribute towards the achievement of business and
individuals' objectives.
For individuals, a Learning Centre is an opportunity to understand
about the competencies, skills and behaviours required to achieve
their objectives, together with how they can attain them through a
process of Continuous Professional Development. |

|
For teams, a Learning Centre allows understanding between members.
A clear vision of where they are going and how to get there is established,
allowing the team to work together in a proactive way.
For organisations, a Learning Centre will assist with the achievement
of strategic priorities by communicating with teams, highlighting
wider commercial realities and encouraging innovative ideas that add
value.
Programme Structure
The structure of the Learning Centre will be based around three clearly
defined stages:
- Stage One - Pre-Learning Centre
Work
- Stage Two - Learning Centre
- Stage Three - Post Learning Centre Work
Before attending the Learning Centre participants will undertake
work in onjunction with their managers to establish individual outcomes
for the Learning Centre.
The Learning Centre itself is designed to be stretching, but also
an enjoyable and fun experience. It is designed to provide something
useful to take away for each participant and to give a lively variety
of learning formats which will address all styles of learning. Methods
used will include:
- Profilling Questionnaires
- Experiential Learning Exercises
- Group Discussion
- Individual Coaching
- Classroom Teaching
Measurable Outputs
A Learning Centre will result in a number of benefits including:
- The capabilities of individuals and teams will be identified.
- Total clarity will exist concerning the organisational vision,
the competencies required to deliver this vision and any current
'gaps' in performance.
- Actions will be incorporated into Personal Development Plans
based on a greater understanding of individual strengths and development
needs.
- Teambuilding based on the recognition of individual talents,
contribution and 'gifts' that will help deliver increased individual
and team performance.
On completion of the Learning Centre, participants will have started
a process of learning that can be self-driven through personal motivation,
together with the support of their line manager and the organisation.
Participants will be clear that they have the responsibility for their
own learning and development. The results will provide endless benefits
at both a personal and business level. This will help individuals
to find the drive and motivation to continue with their own lifelong
learning.
The Learning Centre will be a challenging, demanding and a rewarding
experience that will have a powerful effect on business results through
changes made at individual and team levels.
